The opening ceremony of the new year takes place on January 1st in Interlaken at the "Touch the Mountains" celebration. The New Year is greeted with an enormous fireworks show.

Have you ever experienced a live ski race? A must for all visitors at the beginning of January! Watsch the ski stars arriving at the finish arena or follow the race live anywhere along the slope - it's breathtaking! 

One week after the World Cup races in Adelboden, the legendary Lauberhorn downhill race takes place in Wengen. One of the most spectacular and longest downhill runs in the entire World Cup.

The Belle Epoque Week takes you back to the turn of the century at the end of January. With different events, and suitably dressed people, the Bell Epoque era is brought to life in Kandersteg.

During the whole weekend at the beginning of February everything in Kandersteg revolves around cross-country skiing. Nordic Day is not about speed but about the endurance of the colourful fancy-dressed teams. Whichever team completes the most laps wins.

It gets arctic in Kandersteg at the dog sled races. You can join in the excitement along the track or at the finishline in mid-february.

A real piece of Swiss history is replayed in Interlaken every summer from June to August. The Tell open-air theatre games bring the story back to life. (only in German)

The OpenAir cinema Blausee promises a very special film evening. A great selection of films can be enjoyed in the second half of June at this romantic lake. Warm clothing is recommended.

Around 40 bands perform at the Greenfield Festival at the beginning of June each year. The multi-day festival takes place at Interlaken on the airfield.

With the Trucker & Country Festival Interlaken, the spirit of the Wild West is experience for 3 whole days. Every year at the end of June, the Interlaken airfield is taken over by the PS machines. 

From July to August the now internationally renowned Thuner Seespiele take place in Thun. A must for every musical fan!

Top sporting performance is required on the Vogellisi mountain run from Adelboden to the Silleren. You can either test your performance as a runner or cheer for the runners as a spectator.

An incredible variety of cheeses and meats from all over Italy is offered every Saturday at the market in Domodossola. As if that weren't enough, depending on the season there are fruits and vegetables. The clothing on sale on this italian market ranges from evening gowns to pyjamas.  Hats, bags, jackets,...

By train you can reach Domodossola in 1.5 hours without changing trains.

Every second year (always the odd years - alternating with Thun) the Lake Night Festival takes place at the end of July in the bay of Spiez. Summer is celebrated with huge fireworks. Did you know that this bay is called the "most beautiful bay in Europe"?

The Swiss National Day is celebrated with fireworks on the evening of August the 1st. Festive activities and speeches take place in numerous towns. In Frutigen there will be a great brunch in the morning on the Tellenburg picnic area.

This year the Seaside Festival offers a very special and exciting lineup. Also in the most beautiful bay of Europe!

On the last Friday in October the market sales people raid the village of Frutigen. The central main road is closed to the market stalls. The whole village is crowded between the market stalls and you commonly meet many a friend or neighbour for a chat.

In Adelboden the market day is on the first Thursday, in Reichenbach every year on the 3rd Monday in October.

The light and sound spectacle will take place for four weeks from mid-October to the end of November in Berne. The Bundeshaus serves as a backdrop and screen for the impressive pictures of the annually changing show. A visit to the capital is twice as worthwhile during this time...

No reservation, no ticket, the show is free.

Every year on the evening of December the 5th, the traditional Santa Claus moves into Frutigen. Experience with us how "Santa Claus" with donkey and entourage moves into Frutigen. There is a Santa Claus market on the market square.  Every child receives a gift!

In mid-December, the fifth edition of "Top of Europe Ice Magic" will be launched in Interlaken. Until the end of February, visitors can prove their skills with their skates on a huge outdoor ice rink.
